My artwork reflects my love of colour and texture through simple designs in glass, photography and metal.

Fused glass leaf series
The fused glass pieces are made using frit which are small granules of glass ranging from powder to rock salt size. The frit is fused onto the base glass which is then slumped into a mould in a kiln.

Icon Series
On a holiday to Crete I visited many tiny Byzantine churches.  They were mostly very simply built, sometimes in caves and using rocky outcrops for the walls. I have taken details from either a fresco or an icon found inside the place of worship. The frescoes were hundreds of years old and the oldest nearly a thousand years old. There was never anyone else around and I felt privileged to be able to get so close to these strange and beautiful relics. It was always very peaceful with just the sound of swifts outside or the ocean nearby. 

Resin on metal – Butterfly Series
I have used cold resin to capture photographic butterfly images against beautiful backgrounds created by rusting metal. The colours of the metal and the butterfly wings complement each other and an alluring contrast is created between the solid weight of the metal and the ethereal floating wings.
